about

Recorded in 96, though the end of Lores features our first time jamming with Paul, so some bits were recorded in 97 as well. I think I wanted to work with Voice of Eye, but after sending Jim and Bonnie my material, they told me to contact a guy named Ure Thrall. I reached out to Ure and then I ran into him that same week at a Dots show, as both of us were at the mixing board looking to record the show like a couple of nerds. The guy working the board that night, Paul Locasta. Funny how things come together. Within a week or so, I needed a place to live and Ure needed a roommate, and I really don't think either one of us knew what we were getting ourselves into. I ran into Jim and Bonnie at their radio show one night and Jim said to me "The Fruitless Hand... what are you some kind of side-kick?".

The Cover was Ure's idea. I paid some guy 50 bucks to do it. Met the artist one day in a cafe. I never saw him again after that. I still have the original on my wall.
